We have almost 2,000 languages in our country out of which 50 are into publishing; 24 official ones with unique script , vocabulary, grammar, and literary history. And, we have about 15,000 publishing houses that releases 70,000 new entries annually in 50 languages plus English. Out of these, English writings are just a quarter.
In comparison to India, entire European Union has mere 23 official languages.

We haven't yet explored Indian Literature, what we have seen till date is a tail of the elephant of the five blind men fable.

Indian Literature is still a "terra incognita" for we young elites of India.

Bookers, diaspora, Ghosh, Roy, Chaudhari, and of course Rushdie.... and " Beyond lies the unknown, clad in impenetrable darkness." And, this unknown is Indian Literature.
